Sunday Morning Stroll

Elena Bond, “Stroll Thru Paris
Close your eyes and imagine a cool Sunday morning: you’re on a street in Paris, lined with café’s, drinking a warm cup of espresso as the trees sway in the breeze. A woman walks her dog, completely content with her day ahead. As she comes towards you, the smile on her face can only make you want to sigh, “ah me,” with complete and total resignation.
Elena Bond’s “Stroll Thru Paris,” is the ideal image capturing that Sunday morning in Paris. The painting makes you realize the true meaning of life. As you look at the painting, you immediately hear the soft trumpet sounds of Louis Armstrong with his rendition of “La Vie en Rose” - a song and a saying known far and wide. Though this saying translates as “life in shades of pink,” its encompassing meaning is to live life filled with serenity, joy, and love - all aspects found in this incredible work of art on canvas.
Elena Bond has an astonishing ability to create a rose tint on life through each of her piece and “Stroll Thru Paris” is no exception. The minute you see this oil on canvas, you are transported to Paris with her incredible shades of greens, oranges, and browns. You feel the brisk air, taste the warm croissants, and enjoy the true café experience of the Parisian lifestyle.
Elena Bond fell in love with making art at a very young age, finding everything she could to create a world apart, even if that meant using her mother’s makeup to create her earliest works. Eventually moving from makeup to the palate knife, Elena received her master’s degree from the Academy of Art.
In her paintings she has tried many styles and techniques from simple still life and portraits to difficult philosophical multi-figured art. Elena was deeply inspired by the Impressionists, painting everything from European cityscapes to nature scenes. Whatever her subject matter, she strives to paint honestly and to love what she creates. Her magnificent use of her mediums truly makes her an expert in her field. The world looks at her as one of the great Impressionistic painters of our time.
I have always wanted to paint: that special talent consisting of making one’s dreams or experiences a reality onto paper or canvas. Unfortunately, I was not blessed with such a gift. Some people’s talents are continuously hidden from the world, only to appear to their closest friends and family, thus never allowing the world to bathe in their talents.
Elena Bond has been lucky enough to be able to share with us her extraordinary gift, an innate ability to transport her work’s viewers to another world with her genius. “A Stroll Thru Paris,” as well as her many other pieces here at Baterbys Art Auction Gallery permits us to enter into a realm where Elena Bond is the creator and we are merely her guests. She entertains us with a trip outside of reality and into the world of her imagination. Simply, C’est Maqnifique.
